Denver Startup Week sneak peek: data-driven storytelling in the 21st century
September 11, 2017
For the last six years, Denver Startup Week has taken over the streets of the Mile High City, growing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship through 300 free community events supporting all industries and all stages of business. The largest event of its kind in North America, Denver Startup Week unites the best in tech, design, DIY, marketing and leadership to inspire founders, developers, designers, marketers, makers and everyone in between. Barokas Communications employees and clients alike look to Denver Startup Week as a place to learn, grow and above all, be inspired.
This year, Barokas Communications has the honor of hosting a panel on Thursday, September 28, highlighting storytelling in the 21st century and the importance of using data to garner press interest. We’re stoked! Moderated by our very own Vice President Jason Michael, the panel also features Alex walker, Director of Communications at Ibotta, Kate Stabrawa, Director of Communications at DaVita, Ben Deda, Vice President of Marketing at Vertafore and Gigi Sukin, reporter at ColoradoBiz.
Technology has drastically changed since the days of fax machines and floppy disks, and so has the media landscape. PR teams can no longer fax a press release knowing it will get covered by local and national publications – and that’s where data comes in. Today’s storytelling relies on data to validate a company, its products, or even an entire industry. The panel will tackle how everyone, from startups with limited resources to large corporations, can craft a compelling, data-driven narrative. On the flip side, the panel will also explore what stories resonate most with media, and the different ways communicators can validate them with data points.
Want to learn more about data-driven storytelling? Talk shop? Maybe get free donuts? The Barokas Communications team will be out in full force, and we’d love to see you there.
