Regardless of what side of the political fence you’re on, companies can learn a lot from politicos when it comes to driving perceptions. Voters are a notoriously fickle bunch. Their whims and fancies are anything but steadfast. And this is precisely how we counsel clients – perception is reality. Whether or not you think Obama has gotten a free ride from the press, he’s done something truly remarkable. He has employed stylized rhetoric and oratory flair to make politics seem less like, well, politics. So while there have been some stirrings that the vast majority of Obama supporters can hardly list any of his accomplishments in the Senate, he has clearly won the war of perception. And in today’s world, that’s clearly become the frontline of the PR battlefield.
